From surplus solar energy to valuable computing power.
The global demand for computational power—especially for AI and Machine Learning workloads—is growing rapidly. At the same time, an increasing number of homes and businesses generate surplus renewable energy through solar panels during daylight hours. In many cases, this excess electricity cannot be efficiently sold back to the grid or is compensated at a very low value, leaving a significant amount of clean energy underutilized.
Chasing the Sun converts this surplus renewable energy into economic value by using it to power locally available GPUs and CPUs whenever they would otherwise be idle. Hardware owners can securely share their computing resources through our platform, monetizing excess solar energy by providing on-demand computational services. This approach increases the value of self-generated renewable energy while supporting a more sustainable and distributed computing infrastructure.
Our core innovation integrates sustainable energy sourcing. By connecting usage requirements with geo-located and time-sensitive sources of freely available solar energy during daytime hours, we ensure that computations are powered by the cleanest, most accessible energy source when it is cheapest and most abundant.
Please note that Chasing the Sun is currently in its initial development phase and operates as a Proof of Concept (PoC).
